Perchance to Dream - Lisa Mantchev

Perchance to Dream: Theatre Illuminata #2Lisa Mantchev is such a creative talent!  I loved Perchance to DreamThis time all the world really is a stage, as Bertie and company leave the safety of the Theatre. At the start of the story, I felt pulled in a dozen different directions at once, but it was fitting, since that's pretty much what Bertie experiences. I kept wanting Bertie to be more careful and specific with her magical scene changes, but then I realized the story wouldn't be nearly as fun. :)  Where Theatre Illuminata #1 reminded me of Night at the Museum, #2 reminded me a bit of Alice in Wonderland.  Only with more gorgeous scenery and wardrobe and a much more romantic plot line.

Love Ariel & Nate - and of course Bertie!  I adore the fairies, love the new characters introduced, love the suspense, and especially loved the theater magic.  The publisher, Feiwel & Friends', motto is "Our Books Are Friends for Life."  This book definitely fits into that category for me.  :)   Look for the book May 25, 2010!
