Let's Hop! - Book Blogger Hop (4/22/11)

It's been a while since I've hopped!  I miss interacting with everyone and the hop makes that super easy!  :)

If you haven't participated in the Book Blogger Hop before, feel free to join us!  Jennifer at Crazy-for-Books hosts this book party every week.  Just click on the logo below, read her instructions, and you're ready to go!

Book Blogger Hop

This week's question is:

"If you find a book you love, do you hunt down other books by the same author?"

Yes, if I love a book, I always look on goodreads to see what else the author has written. I don't always read the books, but if they sound interesting and have good reviews I'll add them to my TBR list and probably check them out from the library.

The author I can think of where I REALLY got into searching out their books is Tamora Pierce.  I read her first book, Alanna: The First Adventure (Song of the Lioness), kind of on a whim - I'd stumbled upon it in the MG section of my library and thought maybe my daughter (Alana) would enjoy it.  Way too advanced for my daughter, but once I'd started reading, I couldn't stop.  I searched online to see what else she'd written and what order the books went in.  I hadn't read a lot of fantasy before, but within a few weeks I'd read all the books based in the land of Tortall - 16 books in all.  :)

Alanna Wild MagicFirst Test (Protector of the Small)
Trickster's Choice (Daughter of the Lioness, Book 1)Terrier (The Legend of Beka Cooper, Book 1)

In the Hand of the Goddess (The Song of the Lioness)

Oooh!  I just realized a new paperback version of Alanna was just released this week!  It's somewhat similar to the last version released (which I like), but I seriously hated some of the original book covers, so it will be nice if they redesign the entire set.  :)

Sandry's Book (Circle of Magic, Book 1) (No. 2)

Tamora Pierce has also written another series titled Circle of Magic and, while it sounds interesting and I've heard it's really clean (which is always a bonus!), I haven't tried reading it yet.

How about you?  If you look up the author's other works, do you usually read them?
